Amy HardyWelcome to Richland Primary School

I am honored and proud to be the Principal at Richland Center Primary School!  It is an exciting time to be in education as our world is rapidly transforming! As educators, we  are constantly staying on our toes to meet the needs of our students today and prepare them for their future ahead!

We teach, guide and nurture students enrolled in Early Childhood-2nd Grade.  Our students are taught by talented, caring teachers and staff members.  We provide academic and behavior support programs using RtI (Response to Intervention), as well as, Title I with academic support in Reading and Math.  Our Special Education team guides students based on their IEP needs, including Speech and Language.  All of our students receive weekly instruction in Music, Physical Education, Art, Music and Library and bi-monthly Guidance.

Our PBIS has the focus of "Be Respectful.  Be Responsible.  Be Safe.  Be a Friend."  This is evident in the school's expectations rolled out at the beginning of the year, the review of these expectations throughout the year and demonstrated by our students.  We strive to have each child feel safe at school so they are able to learn and have fun!

Our facility features a full size gym, library with a story pit, and a computer lab.  Every classroom is equipped with a SMARTboard and we provide 1:1 devices (iPad) for our students.  Our beautiful outdoor area is an enclosed large green space with a gazebo and raised garden beds, plus a picturesque nature area and trail.
I encourage you to stop in and say "hello" and visit our school!

Snackpack for Backpack itemsSnack Pack for Backpacks

Snack Pack for Backpacks is a program that is a joint effort between a student and staff team of dedicated individuals that want to make sure students in need have something to eat, even outside of the school day. You can help this team of RSD students and staff by donating money or non-perishable food to their campaign.

Students at the Primary & Intermediate Schools are confidentially nominated for the program by their teachers. With parent approval, students are then accepted into the program will receive a bag of food that will slip easily into their backpack so that they have a food resource over weekends & holidays.

We want to have these items able to be easily used by the students, so we are asking that non-perishable items be portioned and easy to open (like fruit cups vs. a can of fruit or pouches of oatmeal vs. a can of oatmeal). We are also looking for items that are not sweet/sugary - we prefer to keep this as nutritious as possible! Here is a list of suggested items:

Fruit cups

Granola bars

Individual vegetable cups

Individual fruit cups

Oatmeal packages

Pudding cups

Individual cereal boxes

Low-sugar juices boxes

Easy-open soup cans

Snack pack crackers

Peanut butter

Cheese and crackers

Fruit bars

Breakfast bars

Spaghettios bowls

Mac and cheese bowls

Shelf-stable milk

Snack stick

Dried fruit leather or strips

Plastic silverware, paper plates/bowls, napkins

Any other non-perishable snack type item that is individually wrapped

We are also looking for plastic bags (like shopping bags from Walmart or Kwik Trip) to bag the snack items up for quick transport into the students’ backpacks.

If you want to donate items, contact Mrs. Goff, School Counselor (Primary School - 608.647.8971) or Ms. Bleeker, School Counselor (Intermediate School - 608.647.6381)

If you would like to make a cash donation, checks can be made out to "Richland School District" and write in the memo line "Snack Pack for Backpacks" and drop off or mail to the Richland Center Primary School (1996 Bohmann Dr, PO Box 649, Richland Center, WI 53581).
